Rencently, we had another one of our famous Yarn Tastings with Barry Klein from Trendsetter Yarns. If you were't there we thought you might enjoy seeing pictures from this great event. There are lots of pictures, but they are small, so please be patient as they load.
What makes this event so great? Well for a mere $5.00 you get to sample a whole bunch of yarns. You get to see how they knit or crochet up, what colors you might like and what needle size and stitch would go best. Yarns are expensive and this gives you the opportunity to try them out before you buy them.
And if that weren't enough, there is usually a mini Fashion Show where you get to see the newest garments and accessories made from these yarns. It's one thing to see pictures in a pattern, but quite another to actually touch and feel the garment and to be able to try it on before you make it. I know the ladies who were there made a list of sweaters they will "have" to make. And what could be better than to have the designer himself comment on each garment and give you the "behind the scenes" scoop on each one.
So
here are a bunch of pictures. You can click on the picture for a larger view and
where I can I will include the pattern number. We don't have all of the patterns
and yarns on our site yet, but you can call Jenny with your requests and she will
be happy to answer any questions. Yes, that is Jenny in most of the pictures.
Isn't she a great model?
Please remember that at Yarn Lady, we carry all of
these patterns as well as the yarns to make them. So give Jenny a call at 949
770 7809 or toll-free at 888 770 7809
Since we don't have all of these patterns and yarns on our site yet, I will link to Trendsetter's site. Please use your BACK button to get back to this page.
Enjoy!
This is a great vest! Very comfortable and stylish with big cables." I think I would make it a little shorter..." | While Karen is trying on yet another one of Jane Slicer-Smith's mitered square creations, Jenny is already standing by wearing a wonderful cabled vest made from Merino Otto. |

The table is set! With delicous yarns that is! | ![]() | ![]() |
| Some of the mitered squares are done in color variations, and some are solid. |
What you can then do, is bring it around the front and fasten it with a great pin! |
| The mitered squares are the same for all sizes. The size adjustment is made in the solid color. | |
Oh look! This sweater has a little surprise in the back! |

![]() | The yarn does all the talking here. Just a little open-work embellishment on the collar.
Here is a great wrap designed by Jane Slicer-Smith. Barry explained that it consists of many mitered squares and can be worn up-side-down!
| OK, now, this shows how "Design Happens" The knitter mis-interpreted the pattern and because of this the bottom is wider than it should be. Great looking "mistake", huh? | Pattern

If you don't like the "mistake" don't worry, the pattern gives both the "correct" version and the "mistake" version |

# 3406 Jenny wore the shrug portion of this outfit in the segment filmed at our store that will be shown on ABC Family Channel
The back consists of 4 mitered squares which are sewn together. Can you see the outline?
Skye
& Pinot Striped Tied Waist | How great is this!!?? Just two squares, a bit of a funnel neck and a bow tie! |

If you've made a scarf, then you can make this little cardigan and the skirt to match! Sorry I don't have a picture here to show the top in it's real position, but the original pattern will show it. | Pattern # FRC #60
| Can you say: "Yarn over, purl two together"? That's all there is to it! |
Look closely: The front is made side to side and the back is made bottom up. | Pattern # 3404 | Pattern

This is a 3 piece outfit. Doesn't the top look difficult? Actually it's NOT!! You just get to doodle a bit after you knit it and create all those wonderful swirls. It is achived by using a gel and bleaching some of the color out of the yarn. There certainly won't be two of a kind! | Pattern # 3400 -

Once again, the gel does all of the work. Perhaps your kids can even "help" you! |

Pattern # 3403 - Brighton Ribbons of Cabled Pullover | Here is Roberta (in the middle). She crochets a great hat at each of our yarn tastings as she samples the yarn. How clever of you, Roberta!

#3407 | As Barry explained, Dolcino has been around. The reason it has been with us so long is that it's a GREAT ribbon! |
Oh how fun! This could be another swim suit cover. Or wear it on a cruise and dress it up or down. Who needs more?
