Here was your chance to "taste" the many new yarns that arrive daily at Yarn Lady. The tables were spread with delectable yarns that the students tried by themselves or in combination with other yarns...

Barry Klein of Trendsetter Yarns held the class for the second time. He is the one who designs the yarns as well as the pattern line for Trendsetter and is just chockfull of information about yarn and knitting and crocheting!!  He was the Master Chef!

Here are some of the Sous Chefs that were on hand to help out the Master Chef...
Barry started the event with his own Fashion Show where he brought sample garments from his newest Holiday yarns. The yarns were so new that we hadn't even seen the line!! It is always so much fun when we get to touch and feel and even try on these garments and see these great new yarns knitted up!

There were purses to purchase and purses to make with all the new yarns. Barry knew that we would fall in love so he already brought a large sampling of all the goodies! We also got to see a mock-up of his newest book called "Knitovation", which he has co-authored with Fayla Reiss (we'll let you know when it is released and we have it!) We also found out that Barry was named one the top 10 male knitters!

Have you wondered what it would be like to knit with these funky new yarns but were afraid to spend the money to try? Here was your chance. Students were encouraged to sample the yarns in one long strip. This, of course, could be a Fashion Scarf for them when they were all done! They were amazed to see what THEY created and what others had come up with!
We also had a "Button Trunk show" the same day from 10:00-4:00 with Karen Nan!!

We found out this time that we can't possibly fit another person in for these events, so we already know that we will have to put a limit on the number of people who can attend; our limit will be 40 people. We LOVE these events and want to have many of them... so keep coming back to our site to see what's happening and read your newsletters for announcements!
