A Day for Mothers

There are a few things, which are common to all the mothers around the world.

Apart from showering love and affection, mothers make it a point to keep an eye on every activity of their children- this of course arises as a result of her being too caring about her child, so that he/she is always unhurt. Here are some of the most common advices by mothers to their children:

• Make sure to change your underwear always; you never know when you'll have an accident.
• Don't make that face or it'll solidify in that position.
• Be careful or else you'll put your eye out.
• What if everyone jumped into a well? Would you do it, too?
• You have enough filth behind those ears to grow potatoes!
• C'mon close that door! Were you born in a barn?
• If you don't have something nice to say, don't say anything at all.
• Don't put that thing in your mouth; you don't know where it's been!

Now that we stay closer to home, isn't it nice to know that we have a hobby that not only gives us lots and lots of "therapy" but also gives us great one-of-a-kind results.

Socks are a perfect project to carry with you no matter what your summer plans are!

These days I think we all have to tighten our belt a little tighter and take a fresh look at our lives to evaluate where we are and where we're going. There are tornadoes and cyclones, gas pumps and elections and lots of things that loom big in our lives.

I am currently studying the Bible with the help of a Beth Moore study. In it Beth has us looking back over our lives to recognize where God has been evident and working and the strength that we gain from that. She calls it (paraphrased) a "Gilgal Moment". The biggest Gilgal Moment of my life of course was when our 7 year old son died on cancer. I can look back on that and thank God for how much strength it gave me, knowing that I can always lean on God and that He WILL get me through whatever may come.

Todd, even at his young age, had that kind of confidence. He knew he was dying when he wrote:

Romans 8:35 35Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? Shall trouble or hardship or persecution or famine or nakedness or danger or sword?
