CHARITY

Mother Bear Project
The Mother Bear Project is dedicated to providing comfort and hope to children affected by HIV/AIDS in emerging nations, by giving them a gift of love in the form of a hand-knit or crocheted bear. The simple gift of a hand-knit bear with a tag signed by the knitter has touched children with the message that they are unconditionally loved.

New Pattern from Gaby

There are shawl patterns already available that promise a better shape and that they will fit better around the shoulder. One in particular is very popular, and that is the Shapely Shawlette by Judy Pascale. We have that available at our store.

I thought I would try a different version and came up with this shawl. It is made with the oh-so-soft Touch Me and it sits wonderfully on your shoulders. The fringe is knitted right in so you hardly have to do anything. Please call the store to order the pattern and the yarn.

There isn't always room to talk about everything here.
Please remember to go to our Blog to keep updated and "in the loop"

On our blog you'll find links to how "eco-friendly" yarns are made, a reminder to go to the Pantone website to learn all about color, pictures of finished projects and the person who made them, compliments of the folks from the Sweater Wizard, we have free patterns and even more opportunities to knit or crochet for a cause.

We invite your comments! Let us know what interests you and how we can serve you better.

Gaby's personal blog

On a personal note:

Dutch sold Life Insurance for many years and because of that we often discussed what would I do if something happened to him. Would we be secure financially? Where would I turn for help?
Recently while visiting our daughter and family, Caitlyn went roller-skating and a lady tripped and fell and injured her head and was taken to the hospital. We commented on the fact that this lady surely didn't come to the rink thinking she would leave on a stretcher that day. Things happen and we never know when they will happen.

Of course this got me thinking some more. Our family has moved 2000 miles away from us and what could I tell them as they walk their own path in this life..... What more could I ask but that they walk with God?

Deuteronomy 5:33
33 Walk in all the way that the LORD your God has commanded you, so that you may live and prosper and prolong your days in the land that you will possess.

Deuteronomy 10:12-13
12 And now, O Israel, what does the LORD your God ask of you but to fear the LORD your God, to walk in all his ways, to love him, to serve the LORD your God with all your heart and with all your soul, 13 and to observe the LORD's commands and decrees that I am giving you today for your own good?

2 Chronicles 5:13
13 The trumpeters and singers joined in unison, as with one voice, to give praise and thanks to the LORD. Accompanied by trumpets, cymbals and other instruments, they raised their voices in praise to the LORD and sang: "He is good; his love endures forever." Then the temple of the LORD was filled with a cloud,
