Good-bye, Judy! We wish you all the best in your new endeavour!

Judy has been with us for a long time... probably forever! Her smiling face, great personality and her expertise made her one of the favorites on staff. Judy is moving on to open her very own store in Mississippi. Look for her in Jackson when you're in the area.
Dutch couldn't help himself..... Meredith is in this picture as well. She is going back to college and we will miss her as well.
Meet Kathy with a "K"
She is the new kid on the block. Please make her feel welcome.

Elvis at Yarn Lady for a special Sock Yarn tasting

At Yarn Lady, we often have special Yarn Tastings where companies sponsor a time where we can all sample their yarns before we buy them. It's a great way to try new yarns and textures and even colors. This time we were able to sample sock yarns from Skacel. Niqua thought that Rob (from Skacel) did such a great Elvis impersonation, that she invited Elvis to show up for the event. As it happened there was a mix-up with the hotel and Rob got to stand in front of his hotel for some time in his outfit before we could pick him up. He flew down from Seattle just for the evening to do this for us. Thanks so much for the effort, Rob!
As you can see, everyone was busy knitting away with lots and lots of different sock yarns. Rob and Karin brought many different colors so you could see how the yarns stripe. Be sure to watch our clalendar for future events. These are often combined with mini fashion shows and always a lot of fun!

"Artfelt" free workshop at Yarn Lady

What is new under the sun?

Art Felt

Karin flew in from Seattle to bring us "Artfelt". As the owner of Skacel yarns, she was excited to bring us her new pet project. Karin explained to the group what exactly this is and took everyone through the project step by hands on step. Everyone left with an almost completed piece that could easily be made into a small pocket book.

Kits can be purchsed which include lots of roving in different colors, written instructions as well as a DVD and the special needle needed for felting.
